Because we have invested heavily in providing the latest cancer-fighting technology and in offering a state-of-the-art facility in North Platte, residents of West Central Nebraska don't have to travel hundreds of miles to receive quality cancer care. In fact, we provide the same full-range of cancer diagnosis and treatment options as our colleagues in Omaha or Denver, and our board-certified oncologists routinely consult with renowned experts at UNMC in Omaha and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Great Plains Regional Medical Center's cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, which places us among the one-fifth of the country's hospitals with approved cancer programs.
State-of-the-art facility
Because it offers a comprehensive assortment of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment options in a building is designed around your needs, we think of the Callahan Cancer Center as essentially a "one-stop shop" for the treatment of cancer. The chemotherapy and radiation departments are just across the hall, eliminating excessive walking and transportation. We have 16 treatment rooms, eliminating waiting times, and each offers Internet access so you can work and stay connected while you're here.
Technology: We've equipped the Center with the latest computer, digital imaging and networking technology so we can get and share information quickly. This reduces costs, shortens your visits and eliminates the need to repeat tests and procedures.
Pharmacy: A full-time pharmacist trained in chemotherapy works closely with oncologists and nurses to deliver the most effective medications. Having the pharmacy inside the Callahan Cancer Center means less waiting and more focus on your needs.
