Great Plains Regional Medical Center's in-house pharmacy provides services seven days a week. The pharmacy staff distributes medication for patients, offers IV admixture services and provides intravenous feeding and medication services to same day surgery patients.
Pharmacy computer systems screen medication orders for allergies, duplicate therapies, incompatibilities of medications in IV solutions and dosage ranges based on patient age and other factors.
Great Plains Regional Medical Center pharmacists also prepare all of the cancer chemotherapy medication administered in our medical and radiation oncology units. Each cancer chemotherapy medication is an individualized dosage prepared for a specific patient, based on the patient's age, weight and other medical conditions.
