After nearly four years of planning, Midwest Medical Transportation Company will offer air ambulance services in west central Nebraska. The helicopter is instrument flight rule equipped, which enables it to fly in inclement weather. It has night vision capabilities, color weather radar and tools to help it avoid other aircraft. It is also equipped with a cardiac monitor, balloon pump, oxygen and trauma equipment.
The helicopter service will begin to transport patients sometime in mid-July.
