Helping you bring a
new life into the world

Family-Centered Care

Every pregnancy is different, every woman is unique and every child is special.

It was this belief that guided the design and development of the birthing unit at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. More than simply a hospital floor where babies are born, the unit is a place where caring and dedicated health care professionals help welcome new life into the world.

Each year we deliver about 600 babies, caring for their unique needs and helping mother and family adjust to a new person in the household. Our facilities include:

  • Six labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum rooms
  • Six private rooms
  • A surgical suite
  • A neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Our birthing suites feature warm, inviting decor and conveniences to make labor and delivery more like being at home. All patient rooms have a refrigerator, TV with DVD, phone and a tub or shower. These suites are designed so that your baby can stay with you from the moment of birth.
