Surgery Services

Surgery at Great Plains Regional Medical Center is performed on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Inpatients spend at least one night in the hospital. Outpatients enter the hospital the day of surgery and leave the same day.

Great Plains Regional Medical Center's Surgery Department is staffed by a dedicated, highly skilled team that is committed to caring for its patients' physical and emotional needs.

Depending on the procedure, the person having surgery will enter as an inpatient or outpatient. Inpatients will spend at least one night in the hospital. They are typically admitted the day of surgery or sometimes the day before.

Outpatients enter the hospital the day of surgery and leave the same day. This may change if the physician feels it is necessary for the patient to stay longer in the hospital.

The surgery unit has five operating rooms, a caesarian-section room and a room set up for urological procedures. We also have rooms for specialty endoscopy procedures.

The Same Day Surgery unit offers privacy in a spacious setting designed specifically for patients who come in for minor surgery and other outpatient procedures.
