Great Plains Regional Medical Center is a
116-bed hospital with 68 physicians on its active
medical staff. The hospital serves a 20-county service region made up of
110,000 people. The lab is a reference lab for nearly 25 other hospitals and
clinics and is staffed with five pathologists. Diagnostic
imaging, staffed with 5 radiologists, includes CT, fixed MRI, nuclear
medicine and angiography. The ER is staffed 24 hours and emergency air
transport is available.
Other services include cardiopulmonary,
cancer services, womens services, inpatient and outpatient
behavioral health, pulmonary
rehab and complete surgical
services.
Community Highlights:
North Platte is a community of 25,000 and serves as a regional hub for
services and retail. It is located on Interstate 80 in west central Nebraska,
250 miles east of Denver, CO and 280 miles west of Omaha, NE. A regional airport provides commercial flights
daily to and from Denver.
The area continues to enjoy and upward trend in its
economy. The town has a progressive attitude with a friendly, family-oriented
warmth to it. The public and private schools are excellent and there are many
opportunities for youth. Mid Plains
Community College provides many opportunities in academics as well as CME
offerings through distance learning.

lakes provide an abundance of outdoor recreation and the area is known for its
premier hunting and fishing.
The city touts its numerous parks, three 18-hole golf courses and a
recreation center that includes an Olympic-sized pool. The North Platte
Community Playhouse offers plays and musicals, a concert series and a speakers
series of nationally known artists and speakers. The community celebrates
its western heritage annually with a state celebration called NebraskaLand Days, which is 10 days
of parades, rodeos, concerts and much more.
