Providing a safe, therapeutic environment for patients with psychiatric needs in a cost effective and sensitive manner.

 

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Program is for adults who have difficulty managing their emotions thus interfering with functioning and maintaining relationships.  Many patients have a history of psychosocial trauma. 

 

The program uses Dialectic Behavior Therapy.  It focuses on changing how one thinks in order to change feelings and behavior.  This 6 week closed group program meets 3 hours a day, three days a week and includes an hour or more of individual/family therapy a week.

 

Criteria

Demonstrating difficulty regulating emotions

Able to contract for safety

Willing to do daily homework and skills practice

Needing more frequent therapy than provided by outpatient therapist

Age 18 or older
